This house was Constructed in 1954 of solid wall construction and had an extension added in 1994 of cavity wall construction but without the use of any insulation materials what so ever!
Having won a €10,000 prize from SelfBuild Ireland Ltd, Moninne Agnew decided to put the money towards a complete upgrade of her homes insulation needs and having firstly contacted our Insulation Supplies Kingspan, they pointed her in the direction of her local Soltherm Insulation Contractor “Eco Thermal Homes Ltd” who set about these insulation upgrades.
This house in South Co Dublin was originally constructed in the 1930s of solid wall construction and was extended during the early 1990s in cavity wall construction with 50mmm Standard EPS Insulation in conjustion with a 50mm cavity air space as was common practice at the time.
The home owners had struggles for years to keep their house warm and with the Irish Sea looking in over the rear of the house, draughts were also a constant battle so they first contacted our Insulation Suppliers Kingspan for advice on what measures they might be able to introduce to their home to reduce the expensive running costs.
This house was constructed in the 1970s as a single story residence with very low insulation values. In 2006 the new owners embarked on a major renovation project and engaged Robert Burke Construction Ltd. to undertake the task. Conservation of energy was high on their agenda. Robert’s company is also a Soltherm trained contractor.
This typical 3 bed semi was constructed in 2003 as part of the mass construction of housing estates in the Dublin commuter belt. The young couple who purchased the property had difficulty heating the house and complained to the building contractors of draughts and cold spots throughout the house. As the interior of the house was finished to a high level the only solution was to insulate externally.
Constructed in 2004 in preparation for the 2006 Ryder Cup based in Straffan, Co. Kildare. Architects Brian OHalloran & Associates chose Soltherm System 2 External Insulated Render to successfully insulate and render this flagship golf clubhouse.
